- Of course rates aren't going to go up again,.. they already have!!!!!!!! They were given plenty of time to screw people over before the new "Consumer Law" came into effect. Of the nine credit cards I have, every single one of them have gone from 7-14% APR, have risen to 19%-29%.

- Two things wrong with the states position. 1st: It's not the states business to determine who can or can't watch any given parents children, unless the watching parent is watching the kids for a fee. 2nd:

- The one thing that caught my eye,, was the house in the article, was appraised at (approx.) 285k, and he claimed a deduction for the entire amount.

- I used to sell the "Berkeley Barb" to the tourists in 1967... in my "Elephant belled Jeans, and Nehru shirts", partied in the park daily, did the concerts, some drugs, (didn't we all?), I have both very fond, and horrible memories from back then.

- Probably. But my son doesn't drink to excess, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, seems to be well adjusted, (never been in trouble with the law, doesn't seem to hang with any of the "bad crowd"), hasn't yet had a traffic ticket, is well on his way to becoming a productive member of society.

- I was actually glad that he chose to eat em, rather than smoke em. The body usually gets sick from ingested items that cause distress. The lungs, won't cause the effect that ingesting does. (which is also why were standing next to 2 open garbage cans in the hot sun).

- Mystery, you partially have the right of it. I wasn't "mad" at him at all, (more disappointed than anything, we'd had multiple conversations about smoking, and why both kids shouldn't), nor was I displacing rage at myself on him. I am well aware of where he probably got the urge to try it.
